I grew up skiing at the age of 4 in Mora, MN. Mora is the home of the Mora Vasaloppet and watching race winners ski down Main Street was my motivation to ski and became my dream. In 2002 the dream came true when I won my first Vasaloppet and I followed it up with 5 more. Since graduating from Middlebury College in 1998 as an NCAA All-American, I have been a presence on the national race scene and am competitive in races of all distances, sprints to marathons, in both techniques. I have won many SuperTour events, national marathons, local races, skied on the World Cup, and was National Champion in 2007. I live in St. Paul, MN, which is one of the strongest Nordic communities in the country. I have been able to give back to the ski community by coaching various junior and master groups throughout the year and writing about my experiences being a professional skier. Now, I work full-time running large clinical trials in Medtronic’s Neuromodulation division, am married, and have a new son named Anders. I’m keeping busy, but skiing will always be a part of my day.
