Growing up in Sweden I started skiing early. My parents gave me my own pair of skis as soon as I could walk and I loved shuffling around in our back yard. At the age of 7 I entered my first real ski race and I’ve been hooked ever since!
In the fall of 1999, I came to the US to race for the University of New Mexico. I did not know much about the South West before I came, but I was really excited to see something very different from the country where I grew up. I skied for the Lobos for four years and I liked New Mexico so much that I staid for graduate school when my college eligibility was up.
I am now looking forward to my sixth season in the Factory Team race suit. My big goal for this winter is US Nationals in Anchorage where I hope to finally get to stand on top of the podium in a Championship race.
When I don’t train or rest I enjoy reading, shopping and watching movies. You can learn more about me on my web page at www.kristinastrandberg.com.
